Both the second and first grade programs are coming up in the next two weeks, so I'm apologizing in advance if I don't update my blog during this time.

The second graders will be performing, "Lemonade." It is a story involving nursery rhyme and fairy tale characters such as Chicken Little, Mother Goose, Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood and many more! The plot is about how when life is getting you down, you need to make the best of the situation. In other words, "When Life Hands You Lemons, Make Lemonade!" The second grade music program will be held on Thursday, April 11th in the high school auditorium. Check out the Second Grade tab at the top of the page for more info.

The first graders will be performing, "Go Fish," a story about a tiger shark who wants to make new friends. His friends are very strange- An octopus with only 7 legs, a tuna fish you can't carry a tune in a bucket, and a zebra fish with spots, just to name a few! The story teaches us how all of our differences make us unique, and how life would be boring if we were all the same. The first grade music program will be held on Thursday, April 18th in the high school auditorium. Check out the First Grade tab at the top of the page for more info.

Upcoming:
First grade auditions for the Cardinals Choir. More info to be posted at a later date.

Welcome to my blog!

I am an elementary music teacher for grades K-2. This is my first year teaching and I've decided to start a blog as a means to communicate with parents and with other music educators.

Here's a peek at my classroom:

Our theme this year was Super Heroes, and my hallway was Wonder Woman Way!

I'm happy to say, since this picture was taken, My SMARTBoard has been mounted onto my whiteboard. You have no idea how excited I am about this!

Yeah, the records on the risers lasted about a month... *sigh*

My instrument storage looks a bit different now. I'll upload new pictures soon.
